Nowadays, people have little patience to read long resumes. Therefore, anything longer than 4 pages may be too much. Thus, it’s important to be strategic with the use of space in our resume and prioritise highlighting experiences that are most relevant to the job we are applying for.
If your part-time job is relevant to the job or industry you are applying for, then it’s certainly worth including. For example, if you had worked as a part-time promoter before giving out free samples in a supermarket during semester breaks, and you are applying for a job that is sales or retail-related, it would be appropriate to include the experience in detail.
However, if the job you are applying for is not related to sales or retail like finance executive, production engineer or HR assistant, it may be sufficient to summarise this experience briefly and place it at the bottom of your resume instead, if it makes sense.
