Restructuring is one of those overused words in corporate.
It happens because there is a need of change, mostly the intention is to better the business. And in a lot of times it also creates opportunities, especially when the company is expanding.
Yesterday I announced to my colleagues that there is a restructuring happening in my team. Because there was an opportunity in elsewhere, where they are expanding their Training Process Outsourcing Business in APAC and my number 2 was given the opportunity to join them as the Learning Academy Associate Director.
Yesterday, I also had my last ops meeting with him. So bittersweet. He took charge of the meeting, updating me on the handover progress to his successors as he gets ready for his new role this 1st September. I have to admit, having my number 2 trained taken away from me is really painful. But at the same time it brought me so much satisfaction too. When your subordinate is progressing in his career well, you must have done something right too, riiiigght?
Congratulations, my dear Kumar. I continue to look forward to collaborate with you in future projects.
