Speaking of Merdeka, one of the most common sought after attribute in a talent is independence. Not the gig economy independent contractor but a talent who does not depend much on another for subsistence.
One that doesn’t need you to hold his/hand all the time. Nor he/she needs spoon-feeding. When there is a problem, they will try to resolve their issues on their own. They conduct their own research. They reach out to experts for 2nd opinions. They conduct experiments on their own to see if the solution is workable. And most importantly, they always keep the team and bosses informed of their progress from time to time – without being asked, without being chased.
When you hit that independence note, it’s a very good sign of progression and most likely you are ready for the next phase of your career. So, do go for it!
