I just read this joke:
“What if we invest in this employee’s training and he leaves?”
“Okay, what if we don’t invest and he stays?”
Normally we will rebut with ‘and you think he will stay if we don’t?’.
But this, it’s really funny. I am still laughing while I am typing this.
Because it’s true, isn’t it?
We don’t really want to retain employees who have no desire to upskill.
Be it 1991 or 2021, the facts remain the same, the business landscape is & will continue to evolve.
Constantly upskilling oneself has even became an essential, especially in corporate.
For learning is important to grow.
And we don’t want to be stuck.
