Vaccination is not made mandatory currently here in Malaysia but govt did loosened up the rules for the vaxxed ones like they are allowed to dine-in in eateries. But this morning it raised my curiosity, is there any country who made in mandatory, so I started googling about it. Seemed that mostly the countries made it mandatory for health workers to be vaccinated. In addition, I’ve also learnt that:
- Tajikistan – First country to announce mandatory vaccinations for those 18 & above on 3rd July 2021.
- Fiji – Unvaccinated public servants are forced to go on leave as of 15th August 2021. If by Nov they still unvaxxed, they will be dismissed.
- Saudi Arabia – If you want to go back to office, you need to be vaccinated.
- Indonesia – It’s mandatory with a fine up to 5 million rupiah.
I’ve also learnt recently, this vaccination is quite a touchy subject. Though I am pro-vaccination, I don’t believe it should be forced. Every competent adult has the right to refuse medical treatment for this is the right of every individual and vaccination is no different too.
It also reminded me of the saying, “My body is my temple,” so I shall define how I want to treat it well and respect it.
So the best bet now, even that I am fully vaxxed, I shall diligently follow safety SOPs. Wear my mask, wash my hands, and with best endeavor I shall also stay far, far away from y’all physically.
