There was this person once told me, “I have no desire to progress in my career, I am just happy where I am.”
Well, that is till she wanted more money.
Let’s face it. If you want more money, then you have to do more. There is no free lunch, sister.
To progress in your career, you can eventually learn how to manage a team. Or if managing people is not your cup tea, then be a subject matter expert in something, the more niche the skills you specialize in, the better it is, for it will make you more expensive.
One can always dream to be successful but if one wants to turn that into reality, we have to wake up and work hard at it. Esp when money is the dream.
