We do find them annoying in the office, don’t we. And admit it, some of you are one too.
Well, I am known as being one. There is this joke at my office that if you need to know something, do call the Helpdesk Hotline ie my number. Partially it’s also because I’ve been in the company for a very long time, so I do know quite a bit of history of how things happened.
And knowing what I know, it also had cultivated my eagerness of interrupting people’s conversation, over-talking someone with what I know. Yeah, even I find myself annoying sometimes.
But the fact is I don’t know everything. There was one time a manager said to me, “You don’t know? But you are supposed to know everything!” Oh don’t be silly, of course, there are many things that I don’t know.
However, I do know there are certain things that my job requires me to know. So to upkeep my reputation of being a Miss-Know-It-All, it does motivate me to go learn & study certain subjects, especially if it’s related to HR.
Over the years, I do try to improve this weakness of mine.
Though I still love hearing myself talking, I listen more now, esp if there is an opinion from a different perspective.
Though I am still quite bossy, I don’t tell people how to do their job as often as I used to. Rather, I spent more time coaching now.
Though I am still sarcastic, I’ve also learnt most times, there is nothing good will come out when I talk down on people. So I learn to have some manners.
Aaaahhh… it’s not that bad being a Miss Know-It-All I supposed. It does boost my confidence if I have to be honest. Perhaps I just have to learn to be a humble one.
Cheers to all you Mr. & Miss Know-It-Alls out there =}
