During the full lockdown, when we were doing our HR eRoadshows from branch to branch, my fav part of the roadshow was having virtual lunch with the employees. After all the presentations were done, everybody in the call were given a 15-20 mins break to get their lunch ready. Returning to the MSTeams meeting, employees were assigned into breakout rooms with the leadership team assigned to each room to engage with the employees.
It was a great time getting to know the employees personally especially those who had joined us during the pandemic for it was the first time me meeting them. We talked about random things like fun facts about ourselves, what we did during the pandemic & our favorite food/alcohol. I have learnt there are quite a few of Dota gamers in the company & to my delight I found quite a number of Netflix fans like me too!
So much fun I had during that eRoadshow period, I often complained to my husband my sore jaw from all that laughing. Hence, with the opening of our office on Monday & our company’s BCP crisis code switched from Red to Amber, it was the right time to launch my #LunchwithLing program with our employees. I do love these 1-to-1 moments where I can spend intimate moments learning more about their personal lives and also their career aspirations. Very often too the employees share their candid feedback on how we could improve as an organization & in a more casual setting, I must say they are more honest than the usual =}
But the best of all for me (besides I could dine-in again), the chances of them asking me for lunch again is higher which makes me feeling a little less lonely.
