#HellsKitchen

“Two Lambs, two Wellingtons, one chicken, one duck, heard?”

“Heard, chef!”

In the latest Season 20, 18 young chefs compete with one another to be the Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Las Vegas. Oh I do enjoy this show. The hustle and the bustle in the kitchen with all the yelling and cursing.

Throughout the series, one important skill that Chef Ramsay often emphasizes is Communication. But not just communicating, but communicating loud and clear.

Well, not all of us leads a busy kitchen, so one doesn’t necessary need to be loud literally. The message that we are delivering needs to be though. When we speak, we need to speak with conviction. The tone of our voice needs to be convincing and it begins with ourselves believing in the message that we are delivering.

Also very important we cannot shiok sendiri when we deliver a message, We also need to ensure that the team understands the message, hence it needs to be clear. Don’t mumble, don’t slur our speech and don’t use complicated words. And don’t forget check for the team’s understanding of the message.

So yes, if we want our message to be heard, we have to first be able communicate loud and clear.
