Well, leaders are like celebrities in the company. They are constantly being watched, judged & talked about. That is why leaders are burdened/pressured to be model citizens in the company.
When we aspire to lead, we want people to choose to follow us. Hence, we take the first step forward.
If we expect the team to be committed to their work, we have to keep our promises.
If we expect our team to be accountable, we have to own up to our mistakes too.
If we expect our team to live the company values, we have to be walk & talk the company values first.
Whilst nobody is perfect, but the least we must do is try. Try our best to be at our best. Because that is what we expect the team to do too even if they are not in the spotlight.
Practice what we preach. Put our money where our mouth is. Move from talk to action. Lead by example.
