There is this Chinese saying, “一分钱, 一分货”, that literally translates to “once cent, one point of goods” which means you pay what you get for.
Menwhile you also have this Western saying, “If you pay peanuts, you only get monkey.”
In both cases are true.
When we pay someone above market, we do have high expectations.
When we pay someone below market, we have to adjust our expectations.
Then you have hiring managers come and tell me, “I want 平靚正”, which means I want Cheap, Cantik & Cun.
