This pic was taken not long before she left us last year. I remember we had such a great time talking about our career aspirations that we went for ice cream after to continue.
For many, many years, Linda has been my story to people, how when you hire you don’t need to choose from 300 resumes but if you have the right one, the one is enough.
You see, like most companies, we also post our job vacancies in our website. However, in comparison if we had posted them in a job portal like a Jobstreet or a Monster, we don’t get as much people applying. Consultants would tell me there only 3-4 people apply though our website job ad but a Jobstreet ad will have 300-400. I would then tell them, Linda was one of the 3-4 who applied through the job ad I had posted in our website.
Now, Linda is a superstar. When she was with us, for many years, she was our top rainmaker. Now that she is with a competitor, I am still hearing good reviews on her work over there. She is one of the greatest hunter I know & writes great sales proposals too from scratch. She is meticulous & competitive in chasing numbers.
I have to say, she was an amazing hire. A true testimonial that we might not get quantity applications, but we do attract quality ones. When you have the right one, one is enough.
