Someone told me this recently, “It’s good that you can laugh at yourself.” Well, I can’t disagree with that.
I have to because I am also one of those who adopts humour as a coping mechanism. So I supposed able to laugh at myself is part of the deal.
Probably why working & connecting with people with a good sense of humour is really important to me. It’s so important to laugh, you know. To keep oneself sane with all the crazy that is happening.
And not feel offended too. But it’s just so hard today since everybody is so sensitive with everything, don’t you think?
Anyways, last night, after 2 years, I finally get to watch a live stand-up comedy show. I had such a wonderful time laughing together with a live audience again.
However, when I stopped laughing & I think about the comedians on stage last night, one after another, sharing about their depression (in a very funny way, of course) during MCO because it was so frustrating for not able to work, I felt their pain.
Being unemployed does suck.
Now they are back out on stages, please do go support the local arts. They are super entertaining (follow IG: @1micstand) Buy tickets. Keep the economy moving. So we all can laugh together.
