“You are very expressive, babe,” a friend told me recently.
I agree. I am.
But I was not always like that. I used to be very reserved with my expressions not because I was shy. It was because I fear. I fear of being judged. And I fear of being rejected.
Because of those fears of mine, I’ve came to realization that I’ve missed out on a lot of things, especially on opportunities. Be it in my personal life or in my career.
So over the years, gradually I gathered the courage to put my feelings into words. I’m nervous. I’m sad. I’m disappointed. I’m angry. I’m frustrated. I’m worried. I’m jealous. I’m selfish. I’m a narcissist.
And when I finally could, I’ve came to realization that I’ve discovered a brand new life. I feel empowered with my mind. My relationships with people improved. I’ve became more confident and more resilient.
Most importantly, I no longer fear. No longer I fear of being judged. And no longer I fear of being rejected.
It’s really liberating.
