Honestly, this is a super bitter subject for me.
I do care and love my kid. Very much. But I also did made a conscious choice to choose my career over my flesh and blood when I sent my kid to be taken care by my mother (for who I am so, so, so grateful for & blessed with).
I do get judged/crucified a lot for making that choice, especially because I am a woman.
Because I am supposed to be self-sacrificing and give all I can give to my child as a devoted mother, right?
Oh well, I am not Indra Nooyi, I don’t know how to “have it all”.
But I do know I am trying my best to be the best mother I can possibly be. Even if it means prioritizing my own needs/wants first, so I am able to provide better for the kiddo.
“In case of cabin pressure emergency, put on your own mask first before assisting others,” right?
