Today, I interviewed someone for an Account Manager role. I noticed she has a scar across her forehead.
So while waiting for the others to log on to the interview, I broke the ice asking, “Hello. What is the story with your scar?”
First thing she told me was that it’s a 3rd degree burn which I instantly could relate since I myself had suffered the same. She continued telling me how she went through 2x plastic surgery to correct the scar & it came to a point in her life that she said no more plastic surgery for she has accepted her scar.
Very, very relatable.
So naturally, I shared with her my scars story too & she went silent for a while.
I then told her this, “One thing I have learnt in my life, you always thought you had it worst. Till you hear from someone else who had it worse.”
So, we just be grateful. With whatever we have. Traumatized, not traumatized, drama, no drama, scars, no scars, we embrace the experience.
Embrace. Learn. Accept. Then we move forth. Always remember, we actually don’t have it the worst.
