When you go for an interview, the interviewer loves to ask this, “Do you have any questions?”
Actually, a good question to ask will be, “Is this position you are hiring, a replacement?”
Because if it is, you want to continue to ask what happened to the last person.
So you can have better information to see if you want to pursue this job further. Interview is not only for hiring manager to assess the candidate, it’s also for the candidate to assess the hiring manager. Important to find a good boss, you know.
However, if the interviewer asks, “Why you so kepoh and want to know about this?”
You answer instead, “I want to know what happened to the predecessor so that I can learn how to position myself better for the job, in the event I am successfully hired.”
Like that.
