“Why do Malaysians hate the trans community more than any other community?”
Last night during my Live session in TikTok, a young man asked me that question. I was actually dumbfounded with that question.
I do find it shocking, really, that in this day and age, the society can be still so myopic when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community, especially the T. For I do believe no one has the right to discriminate against another person.
Misunderstood, perhaps. Misconceptions, perhaps. Misinformation, perhaps.
So, get educated people.
Because quoting an article from Scientific American®, “Transgender humans represent the complexity and diversity that are fundamental features of life, evolution and nature itself. That is a fact.”
So yes, it is time that we acknowledge that sex is not binary after all. Transgender people are real indeed.
Embrace. Learn. Accept. And move forth with the LGBTQ+ community. We don’t need more hate in this world.
