Well, to my knowledge, it’s not compulsory for companies to grant an extra day off. But, they do need to give employees reasonable time off to cast their votes so the employees can exercise their rights as citizens.
For those who are required to travel outstation, employers should not reject their leave either so that the employees can execute their duties as citizens.
But what if we don’t have enough workers to man the shop that day? Well, we all still have 3 weeks to plan ahead a skeleton crew to take care of the shop on 19th November 2022.
Remember, when there is a will, there is always a way.
