I understand the Employment Act 1955 states that if you are sick, you are given 48 hours to inform or attempt to inform your boss. But it’s 2022 today not 2002.
All of us have a mobile phone now with mobile data unlike 1955. We now can call. And text. From almost everywhere, anytime.
We don’t need to wait for 48 hours anymore.
And that include things like:
- Late for an appointment
- Unable to make it for interview or any event
- Need to take emergency leave (because there was a threat to our property or dealing with matters of life and death)
Don’t go MIA and leave us in the dark.
