When you are fresh and young (read: interns, fresh graduates), mistakes are more forgivable. Because your bosses (should) understand that you are inexperience so mistakes from you are somehow expected. That’s why when the bosses want to reprimand you, they are gentler.
So, it’s okay to make mistakes.
When you are given an opportunity, don’t fear if you can or cannot. Seize the opportunity and rise up to the occasion. Do first, die later.
The talented Mary Tyler Moore said, “Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. Your have to fail in order to practice being brave.”
Aaahhhh… yes, practice makes better. So the more we fail, the braver we will become. Because it’s true, what doesn’t kill us will make us stronger.
So be fearless and step out from your comfort zone. Learn as much as you can from your experience especially when you make mistakes. It’s going to be a fun ride, I can promise you that.
