Interview vs. Blind Date

Let’s face it, job interviews are like blind dates that we’re forced to go on. We put on our best outfit, blow our hair, and pretend to be interested in what the other person is saying. All while secretly hoping that they like us enough to give us a chance.

We’re trying to impress someone we barely know, and they’re judging us based on just 45 minutes of interactions. It’s nerve-wracking indeed, with the pressure of potentially landing our dream job.

Just like on a first date, first impression matters. Dress to impress, but make sure we’re comfortable and feel like ourselves.

Don’t forget to do our research too. Like how we study the blind date’s profile, learn as much as we can about the company and the role we’re applying for. This will show the interviewer that we’re serious about the job and have taken time to prepare.

And who knows, we might even impress the enough to get a second interview (or second date) 😉
