Gen-Z is the workforce born between 1997 and 2012, making them no older than 27 years old this year. They compromise up to one quarter of our workforce.

Gen-Z is often considered the first true digital natives, i.e. they grew up with internet and social media.

Gen-Z values flexibility, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace according to surveys. They tend to prioritise mental-health and work-life balance more compared to previous generations.

Gen-Z prefers to communicate quickly and concisely, and is more inclined towards using messaging apps for professional communication compared to emails or phone calls.

Gen-Z favours digital learning tools and jobs that offer personal growth. They are also more often concerned about environmental issues and social impact of their work.

Gen-Z is 3 times more likely to job hop compared to boomers, citing a value for “varied career experiences.”
