It took me a long time to find the right balance between being friendly and being firm. As a young leader, I struggled with either being too lenient or too strict. The truth is, it’s a delicate balance that requires practice and patience.
So, it’s alright if you don’t get it right immediately.
Set clear expectations, communicate openly, and lead by example. But most importantly, be patient with yourself. Keep practicing, and over time, you’ll find that sweet spot where you’re both approachable and assertive.
