When I was Head of HR, one of the things I made sure to do was send personalised GIFs to congratulate employees on their work anniversaries. Yes, I even invested in a RM400+ per year software just to create those cute, fun GIFs.
Every. Single. Employee.
Some might say, “Aunty, as a Director, aren’t you too busy for this kind of thing?” Let me tell you – absolutely not! No title is too important to show appreciation.
For the employees, it’s more than just a GIF. It’s an acknowledgement of their hard work, a small but meaningful reminder that they matter, and proof that someone in leadership noticed they survived another year in the company.
The truth is, acknowledgment goes a long way. When we show people they’re seen, they feel valued. Isn’t that what great leadership is all about? Setting the tone, building connections, and inspiring loyalty through simple, thoughtful acts.
