When I was in university studying engineering, I used Word extensively for assignments and occasionally Powerpoint for presentations. I rarely touched Excel because it wasn’t required. So, when I entered the workforce 20 years ago and had to use Excel to manage data, I struggled.
I was lucky, though. While I only started seriously learning Excel after starting my career, I picked it up quickly by applying my programming skills to create formulas.
Excel quickly became an important tool in my daily work. From generating reports and managing schedules, to analysing data – lots and lots of data! It definitely contributed in propelling my career.
So, if there’s one good advice I could give you to excel in your career, it’s excel in Excel.
Trust me. You will not regret learning Excel.
