I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been told “no” throughout my journey as an influencer. Some bosses think engaging me will cheapen their brand because I’m not “polished” enough. I even have friends, who I went above and beyond for, barely lifted a finger when I asked for support because I’m not a priority to them.
Did it hurt? Of course! But did it let me stop me? NOOOOO!!!
Every rejection, every closed door – I take it as a sign from the universe to redirect my strategy. Instead of sitting around feeling angry and sorry for myself, I reflect. Yes, I reflect.
Why aren’t they into me?
What about me didn’t fit their vision?
How can I make them WANT me?
And then, I pivot. I rework my approach. I find another way, another door, another path forward – towards the people who see me, appreciate me, and are ready for what I bring to their world.
Because at the end of the day, as cliche as it sounds, rejection isn’t the end. It’s just a detour leading me to where I truly meant to be. Right?!
So keep moving, keep strategising. and go where we’re celebrated, not just tolerated.
