Every time someone brings up high turnover, all eyes turn to HR.
But here’s the hard truth I’ve learned from two decades in the workforce solutions industry:
👉 Turnover is rarely HR’s fault.
👉 It’s almost always a leadership issue.
HR can monitor trends.
HR can raise red flags.
HR can even create all the fancy engagement initiatives you want.
BUT… if the leader is horrible, inconsistent, disengaged, or simply not trusted… hmm… no retention strategy in the world can fix that.
Because, people don’t leave companies.
They leave bosses.
If your team is bleeding talent, before blaming HR, ask yourself:
🤔 Am I listening enough?
🤔 Do I give credit, or just take it?
🤔 Am I the kind and inspiring boss I would stay for?
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being accountable.
Fix the manger, fix the team. And when leaders show up better, people want to stay.
Happy weekend, everyone! Be the kind of leader someone would fight to work with. Growth starts from the top. Gitu. 🌱
