Someone asked me, “Aunty, during company trip, if there’s an accident, can we claim SOCSO?”
For a moment, I wasn’t sure either.
Because in many cases, technically when we are on company trip, we are not really working.
But then again, it is still a company trip. So the company does have a certain degree of responsibility for our safety.
So I decided to write to SOCSO to clarify.
And to my delight, yes I was right.
Even though we may not be doing actual work during the trip, it is still considered official company business because it is a company-organised activity.
Hence, SOCSO claims may apply.
