I recently came across a set of questions from Whitney Wolfe Herd, Founder & CEO of Bumble, in her “Rewriting the Rules of Business and Life” Masterclass.
Simple questions… but the kind that made me pause a little.
So I thought, let me try. Here we go.
How do I really understand my customers?
⏩ As a social media influencer, I study how people react to my posts and I read the comments section. There is so much I can learn from the stories my followers are brave enough to share with me.
I also run random polls on LinkedIn and in my Instagram AuntyHR Focus Group from time to time to better understand what my customers are going through and what they need.
What do they care about?
⏩ Most of them care about being treated fairly at work, especially when it comes to their pay.
Where do they go and what do they do?
⏩ They are in traffic, on TikTok, and in WhatsApp groups (my videos get forwarded a lot, hehe). Essentially, they are everywhere… probably except where their boss thinks they are 😆.
How can I be a companion in their day?
⏩ I create content that shows up with the truth. I try to be the honest voice. To say the things people are thinking… but don’t always know how to say, or have the courage to say.
And maybe, just maybe, I can make them feel a little less alone at work.
