POV: Go At Our Own Pace

Someone messaged me recently and said they feel left behind because their peers seem to be doing better in life.

And honestly, it’s absolutely okay to feel left behind sometimes.

I know that feeling too.

I only graduated when I was 26. At that age, many of my peers had already started working, earning money, building their careers, and moving ahead.

At that time, I also wondered whether I was late.

But looking back now, I realise that different people progress at different speeds.

Late does not mean lost.

As long as we keep working hard, keep learning, keep showing up, and keep trying to improve our situation, we can build a good life for ourselves.

So don’t be too harsh on ourselves just because someone else seems ahead.

Go at our own pace. We will get there.

Slowly but surely.
