Someone said to me, “I went into a global MNC and realised it’s all tears and stress because there’s no mentor and everyone is busy.”
I understand this feeling because I’ve experienced it myself.
One thing I learned from hiring for global MNCs is that expectations are usually high from the very beginning.
Most people are hired because the company already believes they are capable of doing the job.
Which also means there is often an unspoken expectation for employees to be independent and not require constant hand-holding.
And yes… that can be a huge culture shock.
But feeling overwhelmed is not an indicator that we’re failing.
In fact, more often than not, this is simply part of the growth process.
This is the season where we learn how to build our own network, ask better questions, and become more resourceful.
So yes, It is hard. And that is exactly why you also have to be patient with yourself.
Hang in there!
Remember, tough times don’t last, but tough people do!
We’ve got this!
