This is Gerard.
He bought lunch too. Because it was also his turn.
But Gerard & me didn’t bond over lunch first. It started with he found out I am Hakka and speak the dialect too, so we started to converse in Hakka since.
Then one Friday evening, both of us among others were working late. When I was leaving the office, I passed by his desk & told him I was tired & wanna go back to watch my Netflix. He then suggested me to watch Somebody Feed Phil.
The following Monday evening, we both working late again and when I was leaving the office, I showed Gerard something that got both of us excited. Phil Rosenthal from Somebody Feed Phil liked my tweet that I’ve posted about the show.
I told him, “Me tired wanna go home now. We shall catch up about it over lunch.” And that was exactly what we did after, over and again, esp when we learnt we share so much love with food & travel shows. We even toyed with the idea we host one vlog together!
Most of the times, we are so busy during working hour, too tired after and need to spend time with family on off days, the best time to catch up on exciting conversations with colleagues on common interests, is during lunch.
Now Gerard too has left the building, transferred to another entity, I am really missing our candid lunch times together now.
So… I love the pop culture. I love to watch TV and movies – Netflix, Apple+, Disney+, Astro, Amazon. I love analysing people. I love to drink. Sing. And buy things. If you love any of those, please do ajak me go lunch.
