My first permanent job was with this SME multimedia company selling AV solutions located in Mid Valley. Basic salary was RM1,400.00. This was back in year 2003.
It didn’t last very long. Just a few months before I was recruited by Kelly Services. Though a short stint, there were so many mistakes that I have made & learnt.
Like… the time I took out the AV equipment to play and experiment with at the demo room. Half way, I went out to pack lunch and I left all the equipment there all over the demo room and unattended. Never thinking in between what if someone came in and stole the equipment or worse tripped and fell over the equipment. Tsk, tsk.
Like… the time I was out with my senior to perform a demo with the customer. Then my phone vibrated. A text received. And I replied the text there and then while my senior was attending the customer. Never thinking I was disrespecting both my senior and customer for not paying attention. Tsk, tsk.
Like… the time I signed off a quotation without getting the approval of my team leader. Never thinking with my lack of experience and knowledge, what if I sent the wrong quotation with the wrong specs to the customer that could had cost lost to the company. Tsk, tsk.
Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes.
But I was lucky. My bosses showed me my mistakes. And the smart me learnt from them and moved on to be better =D
