You know I do admire people who are not afraid to ask.
Asking for favors. Asking for directions. Asking for help.
Asking for an increment. Asking for career advise. Asking stupid/silly/dumb questions even.
Because we fear rejections mostly I think. And being laughed/judged.
But my ex-boss once said this to me, “Nothing to lose to ask. Maybe a bruised ego. But we can get over that one quickly, not a problem.” Of course she was one who has a thick face Not all of us are wired like that.
But what I realised over the year, if we want to be good in something, we need to practice. And this includes asking for something we want/need. So we practice, practice, practice asking, till we are fearless.
