#OneMinute #Problems

Henry Ford said, “Don’t find fault, find a remedy, anybody can complain.”

It’s true, isn’t it? It’s just so easy to complain, because it’s also true, things can always be better!

The question now would be, how can we make it better? Aaaahhh… don’t always go find what’s wrong, find-lah also how to make it right, riiiiiiight?

Like any other skills, problem-solving skills requires practice too. The more your practice, the better you can get. And I can tell you confidently, critical thinking is a very sought after skill now, especially with all the complexity we have in the world today.

However, sometimes I also beg the question is this problem the right problem that needs attention solving? That is when I feel critical thinking is important. A lot of times, I do feel we are overreacting to problems. Like for example because of one person who is unproductive sitting at home watching TV during working hours, then suddenly it’s a problem allowing people to WFH.

Some problems are just so petty that we shouldn’t focus so much on our energy that we missed the bigger picture in solving bigger problems. You get what I mean?

Anyway, probably Einstein be able to articulate it better than I do. He said, “If I were given on hour to save the planet, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute resolving it.”

Ah yes, define the problem. Make sure it’s worth the time and energy that we are going to invest in it. Don’t just know how to complain.
