I was watching Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive latest season and what a rush was the final episode!
It’s the epitome of “It’s not how you start the race, it’s how you end the race.”
There was this moment, at the last few laps Red Bull’s principle Honer decided to box and pit the driver Verstappen, gambling him on faster tires. Because it also meant risking him losing his position.
Honer then said, “Look, we got nothing to lose. Winning this championship is gonna be all about maximizing our chances, taking opportunities.”
And that risk paid off. The right opportunity came at the right time. Red Bull crossed that finish line victorious.
It somehow reminded me the many times in my life when I fear taking the risk for I needed more time. Then, the opportunity passed cause it didn’t wait for me. And I would live in the state of ‘what if’.
On the other hand It also reminded me the many times in my life when I made a decision in a rush. Pros and cons for sometimes I really didn’t think it through enough. But for me, it’s the rush of racing against time that makes it such an adrenaline rush.
It’s the rush that makes it a rush. Creating the exciting moments in our lives so we can look forward & keep moving on.
Anyways, I am curious. Have you made a decision in a rush for the rush?
