Around 3 weeks ago I attended a leadership meeting in Bali together with 170 leaders from across APAC. There was this particular group activity I found it fascinating. It was called “Left or Right?”
The first question posted was “I have worked here for… LEFT More than 5 years. RIGHT Less than 5 years.” Then the room got divided into 2.
And in the left side of the ballroom, the number of people were FAR more than the number of people on the right side. One of them was in the company for 24 years already!
It got me thinking.
Those who were in the left side, most of them are like me too. We came in as a junior executive and worked our way up to where we are today. And because the company invested and grew us, it was most probably why we stayed. Well, at least for me, it is the main reason why.
